Day 33 (for real)

Yesterday was a wonderful morning in the Palmyra Temple and Sacred Grove.
By early afternoon the clouds gathered (the pic below is over the grove) and led to the hugest deluge I can remember. After watching the radar and forecast we just drove back to the bike trail and hunkered down for the night!
People everywhere have cool stories.
This is Mary Williams who owns the Little Sodus Inn on this little bay on Lake Ontario. What a beautiful place to live and turn strangers into friends. Her motto: "He who enters here is a stranger but once".  :)  (She said they got 2" of snow this past winter instead of the usual 200")
Before we finished the ride today we added to our total of repairs during this adventure. So far:
2 totally worn out tires:
8 flat tires (tubes replaced) included the blow out on the first day!:
2 broken spokes:
Scott is on his 2nd reflector that hooks to the back of his shirt:
(Some cow in Iowa has probably been curious about that red blinking light that mysteriously showed up somewhere along that country road)
And he is on his 3rd pair of sunglasses:
(so far!)
We start mountains again tomorrow and should probably finish this adventure early next week (if there isn't much more rain and there aren't too many more historic roadside markers!)  :)

  1. Hahaha! I was waiting for the sunglasses on the list of casualties. Glad you've got the extra pair so that doesn't slow you down to the finish....or maybe he won't need them if it keeps raining. :) Hahaha.
