Day 23: (and our Lincoln day off)

Today I had a quick run to Clinton Illinois' McDonalds for our usual honey-mustard-grilled-chicken-wrap. I smiled the whole time as I watched what had to be the Clinton senior's #1 gathering spot.  Almost every seat was filled with large and small groups that ALL knew each other and talked energetically about family, people, corn prices, politics, etc. It was a fun group!  Here is a famous Lincoln quote that is part of Clinton's history:
Another great quote from yesterday:
Our ALL THINGS LINCOLN, ALL DAY TOGETHER was terrific!
The Lincoln home in Springfield IL is a National Parks tour and, like all National Parks, it was great! This back parlor was Lincoln's study, and on May 19, 1860, delegates from the Republican National Convention formally offered Mr. Lincoln the Republican nomination for President.... a little less fan-fare than today. ;)
One thing I was really curious about though...  Was it really popular in the mid-1800s to clash so many prints and colors? or was it just Mary's taste?
Just sayin'   ;)
And don't you love that they had a 3 seater?  :)
The Lincoln Library and Museum were amazing. So worth the trip. But if you can't go here are the websites:

I'm looking forward to our next vacation day!  :)
